  • Sitting Still: Faces of Childhood

    The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) invites the public to “come meet the kids on our block” with a current exhibition entitled Sitting Still: Faces of Childhood. This special display focused on 19th century paintings of children can be viewed in the ROM’s Sigmund Samuel Gallery. The ROM has lowered admission prices from $24 to $15 for adults and from $21 to $13.50 for seniors. The museum is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with Friday extended hours until 8:30 p.m.

  • Deconstructed: Works From The Permanent Collection

    Deconstructed: Works From The Permanent Collection might sound like Unionville’s Varley Art Gallery has chopped up the Varleys and other Group of Seven paintings it possesses, but art lovers can relax. As Curator Anik Glaude explains, “to deconstruct implies the breaking down of a whole into its constituent parts. Old favourites and hidden gems will be on display.” The exhibition runs until May 1 in anticipation of the opening of new exhibition space dedicated to the gallery’s permanent collection. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
