MROO (Municipal Retirees Organization of Ontario) is a not-for-profit membership organization governed by OMERS retirees for OMERS retirees. Since 1977, MROO has been working to protect your pension and providing its over 32,000 members across Ontario with a variety of member benefits and offers for retirees.

  1. You want to protect your pension. You earned your pension and now you want a say in how it’s invested and administered. MROO keeps you up-to-date on developments at OMERS and provides a voice for retirees with representatives on OMERS Boards.

  3. MROO provides its members with free monthly webinars that cover topics of interest to retirees, including health and nutrition, housing options for seniors, financial planning, travel, estate planning and more!

  8. Help future generations. MROO offers annual Student Scholarships (from $500-$2,500) to qualified relatives of MROO members entering their second year of university or college, or an equivalent educational institution in Canada.
  9. You want to stay engaged in your retirement. Volunteer with MROO and help out at MROO’s Retirement Planning Seminars, OMERS meetings, and annual Zone meetings. You can even become a Zone Director, Alternate Director or Ambassador. The Board is elected at open membership meetings across Ontario.
