Greetings fellow wine enthusiasts! This week we have yet another awesome wine at an incredible value to fit our tight January budgets.  Here are five reasons why the Beringer Founders’ Estate Chardonnay is our #wineoftheweek

LCBO #534230  |  $16.95

1 – It is a scrumptious California Chardonnay.  This wine shows pronounced fruit notes with dominant traits of ripe apple, pear, pineapple, citrus, orange blossom and a touch of sweet smoke. It is crisp and refreshing on the palate with a slightly buttery and off-dry mouthfeel.

2 – It comes from a home with a remarkable heritage.  Beringer Vineyards is a legendary winery founded in 1876 in St. Helena, California; and is “the oldest continuously operating winery in the Napa Valley.”  Founding brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer were pioneers of viticulture and winemaking in California and the Founders’ Estates series – including this Chardonnay – pays tribute to the founding brothers’ commitment to crafting good quality wines.

3 -It a versatile, crowd pleasing year-round white wine.  I would not be surprised if this wine becomes your go-to house white.

4 – It pairs outstandingly well with roasted chicken, turkey or Cornish hen; but it doesn’t end there. This medium-full bodied Chardonnay is a terrific match with seafood dishes or a nice cheese platter.

5 – It comes with rave reviews! Check out these awesome reviews from other wine aficionados in the Ottawa area: http://bit.ly/1PJ2tWd
